That`s right. Is that an advantage we hear you say? In property management it is. If the price is too low, how are you going to get someone out to fix the lift if it breaks? How can you make sure the landscaping is carried out routinely so the property doesn`t look haggard? The things we often take for granted – manicured weeded lawns, lights that work, gates that open, bells that ring, woodwork that is waterproofed – come about because of consistent low-level maintenance that is only noticed by its absence. If you skimp on the management fees, you`ll end up with a property that is not cared for and over time, the lack of spend will become clear in its slow decline. An unloved block of apartments or an estate that feels a notch below its peers can reflect on its inhabitants at the very least.
